BREWIN DOLPHIN GOLD ART PRIZE
Virginia Creeper & Mug, oil
The quality of light, the use of colour and the tension of the drawing in the painting claimed my attention in a genuine experience.
BREWIN DOLPHIN SILVER ART PRIZE
Red and Green - Why Not?, oil on canvas
A joyous and inventive work
GEORGE PICKARD PRIZE
A little gem. Seemingly unobtrusive, yet accomplished in its handling and in its control of tone.
BREWIN DOLPHIN BRONZE ART PRIZE
Linda Pitcher RBSA
Family Outing, Tragalgar Square, oil
A great sense of shape, pattern and surface.
GUY DIXON PRIZE
Female Figure, ceramic with glazed oxides & st
An engaging interchange between the forms used, and the resulting figure. The staples, in adding to the surface, not only provide a decorative quality but add to the articulation of the form.
HENTON ELLIS PRIZE
Pans and Blue Pot, acrylic
A well considered and inventive take on a familiar scene. The colour and point of view are particularly interesting.
