Applications for membership of Leicester Society of Artists are welcomed from artists living, working or studying in Leicestershire or Rutland or with strong connections to the area.
We are planning an Autumn date for applications for membership in 2019. Please check back here later this year for our application form.
Information for applicants
You are required to submit FOUR ORIGINAL WORKS in support of your application for membership which will be considered by the LSA Council. Your FOUR works must be of an equally high standard, and be well presented, suitable for an exhibition. These works must have been created within the last three years. Reproductions may not be substituted for the original works.
We accept paintings, drawings, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, glass, ceramics, textiles, photography and most other media. We do not have facilities to show video work in our exhibitions at present.
You may also, if you wish, submit a sketchbook (optional), a short CV and/or an artist's statement (optional) and up to four preliminary studies (optional).
You will need to bring your work to Crown Hills Community College in Leicester (autumn date for 2019 to be announced) and leave your work with us for several hours, then collect it later the same day.
The decision of the Council of the Society is final and will be given in writing by email, or a letter sent by post if you do not have an email address.
